[Channel NewsAsia] iPhone 4 users, did your alarm go off today? - Page 4

haha thats gold, i work up north and 2 of our boys slept in today and owe 6-packs coz their alarms didnt go off.

one is an iphone 3gs user though.

but mine went off fine. theres a way to make it work, you have to set repeat to either the day you want it to go off or for safety sake, set repeat to every day. i just happened to have mine set that way and it went off without a hitch.

we tested it and yeah, thats how to get around the issue for now.

Another way is to set your alarm every night. That's how I get around it.

The glitch that caught me out was:

Set alarm for 6:30am and activate it, it went off just fine, right on time.

If I then decide I want to wake up at 9:30am, if the alarm is activated and I change the time, it doesn't go off.

So every time I change the time, I have to deactivate the alarm and activate it again.

So now just out of instinct I have stopped using the automatic feature and simply activate my alarm every single night and it hasn't let me down yet....fingers crossed.

HTC Desire/Android has a stupid, stupid, stuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuupid design feature/bug/idiocy of requiring the phone to be turned on for the alarm to work. Even my old N95 could wake itself up... but no, my Desire has to be on all night for the alarm to go off.

Very stupid indeed, especially considering this is the SECOND time in the last year Apple has seen this bug. The first time was the DST switch over a few months back. In that case the phone did observe DST, but the alarm portion didn't seem to. In my case my normal alarm didn't go off, but the alarm I set special an hour early did.

The alarm on my Evo didn't go off yesterday morning. I think I'll go write a story about it.
