Hey GTX4xx owners I'm curious whats your gpu usage with NFSHP and FNV?

I have a PNY GTX 470 800/1600/1800 and my usage with these games seems low they both never go over 50%. And the other games I have issues like studder are similar usage. Are these % about right and the games are buggy or the 4xx series has gpu usage issue or maybe driver issue. I am just curious if it's just my install or common %. Thanks for any info/help!

Overclock your i7-860 and you'll see that usage rise up quite nicely. :3

NFSHP's CPU heavy.

Get latest drivers, enable 32xaa in Nvidia control panel.

Max settings ingame @ 1080p

Thats not going to increase GPU load. It's an i7, not an Athlon 64. The game runs fine on an i7 at stock.

It doesn't even use close to half of my CPU, the game just isn't demanding on modern GPUs.

And even with that level of AA, you wont see any improvement with it since Nvidia hasnt released drivers compatible to the particular AA method NfSHP uses.

(DX9 Transparency or something like that.)

Please. Even an i7 from stock to overclock would yield an improvement in his FPS.

This debate is long in the tooth.

There isn't a definitive answer but the general reccomendation is any decent quad at 3+Ghz should not be bottlenecking any single GPU card.

Also NFS just doesn't have AA built it in but works fine when enabled via Nvidia control panel.

Makes it look a completely different game.

What drivers and settings are you on? I have yet to see any improvement on a GTX 465 which I would want to add, at stock gives about 40-50%(on the same machine below) GPU usage, same as the above machine, which has led me to believe I am CPU limited.

Plus, I've tried a multitude of settings, including Nvidia inspector, invoking compatibility mode with Starcraft 2's AA profile, which made the game look worse.

There has been absolutely no IQ improvement forcing AA from defaults to 32x. Unlike with an ATI card however... The results are definite. (non MLAA)

I doubt it's cpu bottleneck in Cinebench 11.5 I score 5.05 with my stock i7 860 and the i7 960 only scores 5.45 in same bench. I have been known to be wrong , and I would like to OC cpu but I'm limited with no real bios options. Also stock cooler and I already see 60c load temps with stock clocks is that about right or could I OC this cpu. Turbo Boost already gives me 3.5ghz but is this not the same as OC performance? Thanks Again!

On New Vegas if I'm my gpu's never go over 40% usage. Never goes over 40% with just one card either.
