Something wrong with my 5770.

Thread Starter
So after dusting the whole case I turned on the PC and windows would not boot up. After I finally got it to boot up I looked on the Device Manager and it did not see the 5770, it only saw a standard graphics port (VGA) or something like that.

Then the computer freezes after about 3 minutes or so. This happens every time without fail. Sometimes I get a blue screen sometimes not. I don't know what is happening or why windows would not boot just because of a bad GPU.

It is weird that the GPU is working sort of, but not really. I have not yet put the card in another computer. That is my next time to do tomorrow.

Any help?

Thanks

OP, try re-seating it as well as the pcie power connector...if all else fails, try driver-sweeping and reinstalling the 5770's drivers.

I will try to blow some air in the slots, but I doubt it will do anything :/

I don't game much at all and I usually play CS:S..the 5770 is perfectly fine for me.

Why would it kinda work, but not show up in the device manager/GPU-Z?

Also, I tried to install the drivers, but it gave me a blue screen. :/

you should run driver sweeper and remove every trace of the original drivers before reinstalling them.

Double check and make sure you didn't knock the fan power connector loose on the card while you were cleaning.

I already reformatted my drive so this is happening when Windows is brand new :/ So all the drivers were wiped out.
