these fans arent the greatest, but they should be fine. if you want to spend some more money, the cooler master blademasters are great fans. you can hook them up to your cpu header with a 2-way split pwm cable and have there speed controled by your bios. this way they stay quiet and only rev up when your cpu gets hot. i have a similar setup in my sig rig. its a d14 with 2 blademasters mounted to it and 1 more as rear exhaust. all 3 blade masters are hooked up to my cpu header via akasa smart pwm cable(which is a genius idea). i really love that akasa cable. basically it combines the power from a molex connector and the pwm function of your cpu header to control the fans. by using molex for power it wont overload the cpu header. at 3.99usd its a very good investment. =]

pm me if you need a link to any of the equipment i mentioned.

lapping it should decrease temps b/c it is flatter

however the cpu is still not flat

that was why they had that bowed design on the heatsinks

I do care about temps, but 1-3 degrees Celsius isn't going to murder kittens.

Yes. Just fine. I ran a CM Z600R with two R4's with OC varying up to 4GHz on demand. On full load it all kept my i7 875k running with Vcore of 1.344v reasonable. Not bad for an obsolete cooler. So with a Megatron you'll be . . . cool.
