What is going on with my ram???

Thread Starter
I have 8gb of Corsair Dominator GT ram and I got a new cpu because my buddy dropped the old 1090t, so to install the cpu I removed all 8gb of ram and put them back in the container they came in, installed the cpu and then put all 8gb back in. But when trying to boot up, it does not post for some reason... I tried each 2gb stick in DIMM 1 and it booted everytime, and then I tried 2 sets of sticks in DIMM 1 and 2 and it boots fine but when I try and boot in DIMMs 1-4, it doesn't boot. On the mobo it flashes cpu, vram, cpu and continually repeats it. I have tried clearing cmos, flashing new bios, even contacting asus support but they sent me terrible responses from a translator that were half english and half jibberish. Does anyone know whats wrong or have any suggestions?

Hmm...

what exact motherboard do you have and what frequency and voltage is the ram specified at?

You may need to increase the CPU-NB voltage, though the x6 can handle 4 DIMMs at 2000Mhz it may have a really hard time doing so unless you up some voltages.

Check if your ram needs XMP turned on

No. Use CPU-Z to see what the XMP is and use it for base point for your memory.
