SB won't see any chips higher than 4 cores. Intel has already stated that publicly.
IB or 1365 will be the ones with 6 cores and possibly more. Unfortunately, Intel hasn't stated publicly the exact amount of cores in their next top CPU but speculation and rumors state 8.

Honestly, I just don't see it. For around 10% performance gain clock for clock to have to build an entire new system just isn't worth it to me. Now SB does have a better FPU than the current gen which gives it the big gain but the Integer gain is a little low. I say stick with what you've got until 1365 because if you went 1366 originally, you'll want to at least go upwards so to speak (upwards as in sticking with the enthusiast socket rather than going to the mainstream).Edited by KamuiRSX - 1/1/11 at 10:15pm
