is my nvidia 7200 gs still junk?

overclocked it earlier using rivatuner, card has heatsink + fan, card has 256mb dedi ram.

coreclock from 450mhz to 630mhz (i tried 675 but it went unstable, so knocked it back to 630 and its fine)
memory bus from 533mhz to 800mhz

running stable, temps idle at 50 degs, max's at 57 on doom 3 on ultra high quality and anti aliasing 4x with just a little lag but no lag on 2x AA, I stress tested it to 59 degs for 10 minutes.

what sort of games can I play now? overclock opens me any options? of course on low settings...

its good for doom 3, Quake 4, Wolfenstein but it is ancient by todays standards overclocked or not

sell it on CL for 20 bucks and spend 50 bucks getting u something like a 5670

It was junk from the second you acquired it
In all honesty you could overclock that card to the moon and it would still be slow.

Also, I wouldn't ever try to run AA on a card like that.

im not sure what options I have, I need a PCI-E x16 compatable card, and I'm not sure what to get, any suggestions that will let me run doom 3 with 16x AA would be beast.

would this work? is it any good?

that is a good choice compared to what u have, just don't buy any 64 bit cards, they are horrible for gaming

4650's and 4670's are damn fast at lower resolutions as well. with the 4650 you should be able to play source games with high detail and maybe 2x AA depending on your res.

the 5550 he linked to is basically the 4650 so I say he/she should get that. 5570 is also a good choice

only con is it is DDR2, try to find a DDR3/GDDR3 card in the same price range if possible, it helps performance alot.

and yes Doom 3 will run even better, along with loads of newer games

May I ask your specs if you're trying to max out Doom 3?

I'm just curious...
