PCI Express is the industry standard, how could it be considered unpopular?

most video cards haven't even saturated a PCI-E 16X bus yet

If yes, get a new one and use it for Physx if you have a second slot. In the more likely case it isn't Physx, get a new one anyway.

Edit: Yeah, along with a new card, you should get more ram (3gb+ total) and a bigger hard drive. And in the long term, maybe Core 2 Duo or Quad. Pentium dual cores will barely get along with anything anymore.
This guy has much bigger concerns than physx.

Oh, so are 16X mobo's backward compatible? could I run an 'ordinary' PCI-E gfx card?

Don't confuse him now.

All modern computers have a PCI-Express X16 slot in them for graphics.
This is the standard and has been for quite a while now.

Any newer graphics card you buy is going to be PCI-E. there is no difference between PCI-e and PCI-Express, just different terminologies.

don't worry about the whole running a card in x1, x4, or x8. just disregard those comments.
