Jeeze.
he said in the OP he preferred a AMD quad. you could step the GFX card down to a 5770 but that's all i would change.

depends on periphs etc, but easily done for that price. Phenom ii x2 555, gtx 460, and done...

The build above looks fine for WoW. Yeah, maybe it is a little overkill but if you have a $750 budget you may as well buy a decent computer as you will be able to play other games on it and run WoW at higher settings.

However for the specific purpose, to stick to the budget, I'd get a HD 5770 GPU instead of a 5850. It'll run WoW with ease and save you a bit of money. You could get any RAM really if you're not going to overclock, any DDR3 dual-channel RAM will be fine. If you're going to overclock, however, which I strongly advise in order to get your money's worth out of the Phenom, those Ripjaw's will do you just fine.

WoW is a very CPU intensive game. This is due to the millions of mathematical calculations going on in the background during gameplay. Try overclocking your CPU a little more and you'll notice a big difference.

i agree with you all. could get the phenom x2 555 for $92 and save $50 but to me it would be worth it now days to go quad if you can. although i think if you get the right board you may have a chance of unlocking a 555 in to a quad.

Thread Starter
So my friend, a frequent user of this site, is gonna help me out loads. He's got an extra case, a monitor, gonna basically give me a 5750 gfx card, and is gonna help me get a legit copy of windows7 64bit...this is gonna run me like half the cost of what i originally thought lol. Basically I still have to get a power supply, RAM, a motherboard, a hard drive, and a processor. He helped me out on newegg...so I basically have everything I need ready to go, but if there are any other suggestions, just let me know. Thanks for all the responses!

Uh, Isn't a 5750 cutting it pretty close during raids, expect like 20 fps.

With the parts listed above you should run WoW at max settings; I do with my rig anyways. However you'll soon discover in Cata that lag in Orgrimmar is inevitable.
