CD ripping conundrum.

Between myself, my brother, and my father, we have quite a cd collection (200+). I have been wanting to rip all of our cds onto an external drive, for back up and ease of access. My question is: what program or programs will rip from multiple drives into FLAC format? I have found one: http://www.accmeware.com/product.html but would prefer a free program.

Ashampoo 6 will do it. There are newer versions, but this one is a full/free copy from them.

You can also use Media Monkey, however you'd need to pay for the Gold Version to get full burn speed (which I'm sure you'd want).

Does Ashampoo 6 rip to Flac? I saw that it does .wav, is one better for archiving than the other?

Go with EAC , probably the best free ripper out there.

Here´s some guides.

Good luck , it´s going to take some time , but it will be worth it.

If EAC had some scripts to automate, it would be perfect. I am going to look for something that will do that.

I always preferred iso's... I do the majority of my backup stuff with alcohol 120%.

I use cdex. Doesn't get much simpler and it's opensource. Also, it can rip to flac.

Looks reasonably similar to EAC mentioned above though and there isn't much available in the way of automation.

This looks promising also.
