Build/other question that didnt seem to fit elsewhere

First off, my build! It is $872 before shipping, $922 after shipping. That is right on budget, I can probably tweak it a little, but not too much unfortunately!

COOLER MASTER HAF 922 (RC-922M-KKN1-GP) Black Mid-Tower Case, ATX, No PSU, Steel
COOLER MASTER eXtreme Power Plus 600W, 600W Power Supply, ATX12V 2.3 EPS12V, 2x 8/6-pin PCIe, Retail
ASUS M4N75TD, AM3, nForce 750a SLI, DDR3-2000 (O.C.) 16GB /4, PCIe x16 SLI, SATA 3 Gb/s RAID 5 /6, HDA, GbLAN, FW /2, ATX, Retail
AMD Phenomâ„¢ II X4 945 Quad-Core 3.0GHz, AM3, HT 4000MHz, 4x 512KB L2 + 6MB L3 cache, 125W, 45nm, Retail
CORSAIR 4GB (2 x 2GB) XMS3 PC3-10666 DDR3 1333MHz CL9 (9-9-9-24) 1.5V SDRAM DIMM, Non-ECC
EVGA GeForce® GTX 460 720MHz, 1GB GDDR5 3600MHz, PCIe x16 SLI, DVI /2, mini-HDMI, Retail
WESTERN DIGITAL 1TB WD Caviar® Black™ (WD1002FAEX), SATA 6 Gb/s, 7200 RPM, 64MB Cache
RAID No RAID, Independent HDD Drives
SONY AD-7261S Black 24x DVD±R/RW Dual-Layer Burner w/ Lightscribe, SATA, OEM
LINKSYS WMP54G Wireless LAN Adapter, IEEE 802.11g 54Mbps, PCI
NONE No Operating System (Choose OS or subject to Limited Support)
WARRANTY Silver Warranty Package (3 Year Limited Parts, 3 Year Labor Warranty)

Now for the question, I'm looking at using a website like AVAdirect (where that build is taken from) due to time/space restraints being in a college dorm and all. I was wondering if AVAdirect is one of the better ones, or is there a different one that is preffered. I would like to steer clear of ibuypower and cyberpower if at all possible as ive read quite a few negative reviews of them both.

Thank you very much!

First off whats primary usage? if its gaming get a nicer card imo

thats not a bad build for a prebuilt. Few things I would change. First I would get a corsair psu as you can get a 650/750 for under 125. Second unless you plan to sli I wouldnt get an amd nforce board. If you are going amd I say get an amd board and either spend the money now and get a 570 (560 when it comes out) or do an amd board with ati card. If your bent on sli then yea get the nforce board.

also if you were building yourself you could save on the wireless adapter and the sony drive as basically anything works there.

Overall for that money if you built yourself something you could get a MUCH nicer setup. x58 is cheap now days.

Cant really get the gtx 570 no matter how badly I want it Hell, I dont even think a 470 is really in my budget!

And yeah, primary usage will be for gaming, and that was one of the two mobo choices AVA gave me in the AMD/nvidia configurator and it was the cheaper one

what about going amd and ati. generally thats more bang for the buck and you would benefit that amd chip having an amd board. link to configurator site?

I didn't tweak the parts at all for that one, but its the configurator I was using!

Yeah, those shouldn't be a problem. And if I do botch the wireless card, thats what the 25 foot ethernet cord is for! The wireless is mainly for when im home, without ethernet ports

I would do this build and get the dvd burner on newegg. There isnt much in the technology of burners anymore so just get the cheapest one imo. Then buy the network card on newegg if you can get free shipping on both if not go to frys/micrcenter/bestbuy whatever and get a cheap wireless G card unless your internet is faster than 54mbs at home.

The downside is the board choices suck and thats the most important part of the build imo (next to a quality psu). this should be right on budget and your getting a 470 which is much better. Then you buy a second 470 used here on ocn down the road. Another option is to buy the comp with no vga and get a used 470/480 or 2x 460s here or newegg. Those are easy to install as well. let me know if you can do those options because then we can tweak much more to suit your gaming better.

edit: where are you located?

1. Better mobo, preferably AMD chipset
2. Please, please, PLEASE don't choose 1333 9-9-9 on a custom built; you have a choice, either get better RAM for more and get better RAM for less (yes, it is normally possible to get better RAM for less price than generic 1333 9-9-9s). There are some Kingston 1333 7-7-7s for just $5 more on that site, I highly suggest you go for those; all that aside, the memory selection on that site is really bad.
3. Corsair A50 is equal to and much cheaper than the Coolermaster Hyper 212+
4. GTX 460 1GB or bust (unless you have a good price)
5. Samsung F3 1TB, usually cheaper, faster, better

Have you considered ordering from Newegg and custom-building? They have a much better selection for cheaper. I think I'll be able to even fit an SSD into your $922 budget with similar parts if you go on Newegg.

Which site are you ordering from? I'm thinking you're not ordering from Newegg in this case.
hes ordering a prebuilt from the site he linked earlier since he doesnt want to build on his own. Only nforce mobos as choices...
