gta 4 on gtx 460????

Thread Starter
hi guys
gta 4 is not running very well on my rig
ilowered the res to 1366x768 so that it plays well but still the fps drops to like 20 in some areas and its not smooth gameplay
i know its a bad port and all but can anyone tell me the graphics settings so as to play the game with solid 40 fps without sacrificing much image quality....
and btw at the aforementioned res and all in game settings set to their max i got 51-52 fps avg in the benchmark....
NOTE: i currently have 4gb ram in dual channel and win 7 64 bit as opposed to what is written in my sig rig....
any help would be appreciated
thnx in advance......

I see no problem with running default in-game graphic settings, Game still looks good.

your current overclock should be enough, I know i can run it Maxed out at 1080 on a GTX 470 + i7-920@4.0ghz, So you should easily be able to run it with your setup, Play at your native resolution but turn a few of the other settings down such as AA and draw distance

Default graphics settings!!
take the back! lol

but i would never be happy playing with such low settings considering people on this forum spend so much on high end rigs.

Take to account, It's poorly ported. If i wanted to wow myself, I'd play BFBC2,Metro.

thats right i played them both and they ran much better than gta 4 at high settings...and strangely even with 259.22 driver i did not notice any low gpu usage or stuttering in bfbc2....
