Really? I guess people should be allowed to rape children and post the videos online, right? Or use the Internet to lure children to meet them?

You're really not going to bother anyone, just waste your own time, and this is not about celebrities. This is about the rash of cyber bullying that happens with regular people where someone makes a fake profile of someone else and harasses the real person and their friends. I've personally seen this happen a few times.

I've seen people pulled over for that, it's just that it's HARD sometimes for a cop to sneak up on someone where they can get an accurate view of what they're doing INSIDE their car, but I've seen plenty of bike cops do it.

The do not call list gets enforced too. Some companies don't care but those companies have been fined to hell and back.

Maybe California should try to enforce some of the actual laws, like putting murderers away, or prosecuting corrupt public officials, etc, like the stuff that is already on the books that they don't enforce.
LoL they DO that already. Just because YOU don't see the hard work they put into it doesn't mean it's not happening.

No one said that, but it's not as if those kind of people are going to drop their normal activities and actually follow this law. This law will go unenforced and won't accomplish one damn thing.
Go ahead and throw this law on top of the countless, pointless laws you can only find in good ole' California.

I support this. The internet isn't what it used to be. It isn't some joke. It is a part of real every day life. It is a vital tool to society period.

Its going to change. It needs to be policed. I think this could benefit a lot of people. If you think some things are pranks online than just imagine it in real life. It is becoming largely the same.

On a side note I only see this used in serious stuff/crimes as there is lots of little BS that goes on and there is way too much of it to police up.

While I agree with most of you post, I most definitely not agree with the part in bold.
I agree with this law but the whole internet should not be policed. I don't want to have my every move online recorded.
(even if it probably secretly happens already, I don't want it legalized)

Actually someone did say that state law shouldn't apply to the Internet, which if you take it literally means that person is saying child porn on the Internet shouldn't be regulated by state laws.

Amway, you have absolutely zero idea whether or not this will be enforced. With the law on the books in any case of online bullying where fake profiles are made, like the case of the girl who committed suicide after that disgusting mother made a fake account, you can expect people to be prosecuted under this law.

Don't you remember how hard people were itching to prosecute her but there was no applicable law. Well now there is.

Basically you are wrong.

I didn't say anything about your every action recorded. Trust me... I'd hate that. Society in the real world is "policed". So online should be as well. To an extent. Though you can police online far greater than in reality I'm sure.
