No need to repeat yourself 3 times. I got your point from earlier. Still, you seem to not get MY point. You seem to be busy arguing the semantics of CA's contribution to the US. You also seem stuck on CA's per capita tax contribution because that seems to suit your needs in making CA's federal tax payment surplus seem smaller than it is.
The semantics are important. California does not pay taxes. The people of California pay to the federal government. The pay the same rates that everyone else in the country pays. The reason they receive a smaller portion of their tax money is because in California there is higher GDP per capita. The graduated tax system causes more to be collected from higher GDP areas. There are states where the ratio is worse than California, and they generally have higher GDP per capita. Any way you split it higher per capita generally equals a lower ratio. Income taxes are not apportioned by state. Only direct taxes are to be apportioned this way in the US. This would be something like a head tax. It makes more sense to think of yourself paying the federal government not as a Californian, but as a US citizen. You throw into the big pot for spending in the US, not just California.

Semantics. That doesn't matter. Point is there's a deficit that's not in our favor.

If Ca had a higher GDP per capita, then wouldn't they pay higher taxes per capita? Does CA have a significantly different GDP per capita than, say, Texas, because Texas gets virtually $1 to $1 back. Now imagine Texas got $30 billion less every year and I bet their state taxes go up to compensate. Thus, CA subsidizes cheaper state taxes for everyone else.

Care to give examples with proof?

Californians are taxed at the same rates as everyone else by the federal government. It is shifting wealth from productive people to less productive people. It isn't taking it from California and giving it to New Mexico. It isn't decided by what state you are in, but how productive you are.

Taxes Received v. Spent: http://www.taxfoundation.org/research/show/266.html

GSP Per Capita (GDP for States): http://www.statemaster.com/graph/eco...ars-per-capita

While from different years, it's about as good as I could find. The data shows a -.54 correlation between GSPPC and Taxes Given v Received if you throw out DC which is an extreme outlier. This indicates that the higher the GSPPC the lower the ratio of taxes given:taxes received.

Ok on topic since this discussion is not about taxes or state contributions....

I actually agree to this law since it's very easy to defame someone by a simple Myspace or Facebook impersonation. We live in a time where society intertwines the social network into our daily lives, you can easily ruin someone's career by just impersonating them by claiming their identity online and type in some random incriminating messages or some photo shopped images.

Also to remind some of you, this law applies to CLAIMS to be that individual. There is nothing anonymous about that.
