They will say they can't do anything for it.

Bake it, Take out the shroud, take off the Cooler Cable and then put it in the computer. It will bake that way without putting it in the Oven. Then give it about 20-25 mins "touch the back of it to see if it's hot" and then turn it off. Done this to 13 9800GX2's and it's fixed 12 of them, half fixing one of them but it had an issue no one wanted to help me fix.

Where are you shopping for used cards bro, and are you talking USD?
Newegg has BNIB 460's that range from $165+ (not on sale), and 285's pop up on the forums for 130ish.

$120 USD for a used, out of warranty GX2 is not a good price. GX2's seem to break more than single cards. $100 is the max you would want to pay for a good, still under warranty 9800GX2 now-a-days....and even then (whether for folding or gaming) there are much better GPU choices for the same price that use less power and produce less heat.

GTX460 for under $200. One of dozens I found in 20 seconds of searching retail sites. This means a used GTX460 for $120 is actually a little expensive. In fact, here is a brand new one on Ebay for $125, with 5 available:

Thus, you are the biggest pile of bull****. QED.

Anyway, I wouldn't recommend a 9800GX2 for reasons others have stated already. I recommend you do your research because it seems as though you haven't payed much attention to the graphics card market as of late philhalo.

i have and the GX2 beats the 280 in nearly every test and the 280 was posted like 5 hours after i paid for the GX2 so at the time that was the best card i could find anywhere and i dont want a 460

Just buy a card with a lifetime warranty.

EDIT: Too late, I see.

Good luck with your used, out-of-warranty card.
