What would cause this texture lag?

i have noticed on some videos of Tera that the textures take some time to load, you can see when the armor it is blurred and then the texture loads:

skip to 42 seconds in and you will see the textures are taking a moment to load, what can i do to stop that? would a SSD work? or is it gfx card related

It might be the game that lacks proper coding.

it happens in alot of games that load as they go, most mmorpg games load the data as you play and dont load it all at once like in FPS

It uses Unreal Engine 3. That's why.

The engine loads textures on-the-fly, so that's pretty much bound to always happen to some degree.

so would an SSD stop that happening to some extent?

I would think so. Some other UE3 games have config tweaks you can do to limit the texture pop-in somewhat, as well.
