DirectX 9/10:
6870 loses to 5870,
6950=5870,
6970 is only 10% faster than 5870.

DirectX 11:
6870=5870,
6950 and 6970 outperform 5870 by a great margin. (more than %50)

That's fine. Each one of them in your list can do max on that lcd. Tech stuff depreciate so quickly so get it when you need it. The price of powerful GPU can drops fast 12 months from now, and that is almost for a 22" lcd. I am not against the upgrade so go for the cheaper one between 5870 and 6870. With that says, you also need to check cpu and psu you have before the purchase.

just get a 6870, it's about the same performance with the 5870, but has better dx 11 features (not that it matters in bc2 though) and runs cooler since it's less beefy of a GPU.

but if the 6870 is a lot more expensive go for the 5870.

At that resolution you won't notice the difference between any of the 3 so get the cheapest.

In fact at that resolution, you'll barely tap into the power of any of the 3 GPUs so. But if you're actually getting a decent monitor, might as well go for the 6970 to future proof yourself.

If you're not planning on going Crossfire;
I recommend the 6970 (or the 6870 since the difference is negligible on a 786p resolution).

If you want to go crossfire;
then the 6870 would be by far the best since its crossfire scaling is excellent and it is the cheapest (in crossfire mode the 6870 is equal to the 5870).

Also, overclocking has tons of benefits. You should always look into maximizing the performance of your PC.
