Does anyone know why my new i5 655 unlocked cpu wont reflect the multiplier increase in windows. If I tab back into bios, it shows it correctly but when I come back into windows it doesnt show it again.

if you have speed step on you won't see its full speed or multiplier until the processor is under load. it'll show a lower multiplier but the correct bclock

try stressing it with prime 95 and see what it says under load.

hope this helps

Check it with CPUz. If you're just using the built in Windows utility, of course its not going to show. It will only recognize the stock multiplier.
