i5 OC @ 3,6 GHZ

Thread Starter
Hey
I'm new on OC, actually i never do one, but i have my i5 750 @ 2,67 GHZ of about one year, and i want to increse his frequency to 3,6 GHZ, but i don't know what configuration to put on my BIOS, could anyone say to me what put on BCLK, Vcore, etc?
And could someone tell me what programs use to stress and test the stability of CPU?

Thanks

Try 2 crank up the fsb until it won't boot anymore ^^ then add some voltage and keep repeating this ^^ Btw watch the temps :S and a stability test program could be: Prime95 (64-bit) or 32-bit (depends on the OS). or use intelburntest GOOOD LUCK!!!

Well, fsb is the thing connected 2 the multiplier ^^
Simple math: I got my new AMD 1100T and want 2 overclock it ^^
The multiplier FE is 16.5 and the fsb is default 200
I want 4 GHz: Multiplier set to 20x (fsb) 200= 4GHz ^^
But if I hit a dead end and can't reach 4GHz with the muliplier alone I'll have to change the fsb to.
Like this: 19.5 x 206= 4017MHz The fsb is for fine tuning in my opinion

Almost the same on intel.
Btw about the memory: get it 2 the lowest timings possible (to low and it won't boot)

Try look at this guide. It will tell you pretty much all you need to know.

FSB is your BCLK, and what do you mean by memory configuration?

FSB= Front Side Bus it means that when you crank that up the memory freq as well as the CPU will increase it goes by default at 133 i believe [please correct me if I'm wrong I'm used to OCing on AMD] so you start increasing the value by 5Mhz at a time also the memory has it's own multiplier so you can play with it and keep it at 1333 or if you wanna OC the memory as Well keep the multiplier fixed.. I hope this was helpful
