While disassembling some extremely old computers in Networking class, I plugged 4 or 5 old 15GB hard drives in, got them to boot, then started hitting them on eachother and dropping them. Also once made a disk shooter similar to the one someone else posted.

I had a customer who brought me a desktop once that would shutdown due to overheating. After dusting it out (dust thicker than the heatsink fins!!) The CPU fan wasn't working. I had no spare fans, so I put a vacuum hose on the heatsink to pull heat off and see if it would run fine. Sure enough, the vacuum worked great! Had it on and BENCHMARKING it for 20 minutes. Temps never got above 65 degrees.

Since it ran so well with just the vacuum for a fan, I didn't bother replacing the thermal paste. Just replaced the fan and gave it back to the customer.

I love how this is in the PC case mod section yet all the posts have nothing to do with PC case mods...

*joins in anyways*

I had left my computer out in -2 weather for about and hour. Forgetting that my computer has a water cooler on it, I started it up. Lets just say the H50 makes about the loudest ticking noise you have hear when the loop is frozen solid

Uhhhhh, let's see....

I once ran Crysis with a 3.8GHz HT on 920 with a passive MegaShadow...
That was pretty hot...

I try not to do anything stupid with my PC. Try.
