Just got an SSD--Help me set this up the right way

Hey Guys,

I just got an SSD (Microcenter 64gb) for my sig. I want to do this the right way the first time and not have to play around later.

I found a few helpful posts, but its a lot of information to digest, some of it old, some new:

Also, I just realized that since I bought this case used, I don't have an adapter to install this... where can I find one of these on the cheap?

Thanks in advance,
PM

You dont need an adaptor, Just leave it anywhere in your case

there is a guide in the SSD forum about how to configure your ssd as a boot drive, Follow that and you are sorted
edit: http://www.overclock.net/ssd/664738-...secondary.html
do that and maby some of the optimisations in the stickys.
remember ACHI mode (or whatever it is) before you install W7)

My SSD came with an adapter plate. It depends on the brand I guess but if you did not get one then you will need to purchase one separately.

See photo of adapter plate: Vertex 2
