RMAing My Rampage III - Page 2

RMA is pretty quick with these boards. Although I have to admit that I am fed up too. My first R3E died about 2 months ago and I RMA'd it. Got the second board and the RAM slots are dead. Hopefully third times a charm or I'm going with a different brand.

Yeah it's just not right. When you spend 400 dollars on a board, that crap needs to WORK. I don't think it's right that they pass off these boards without even testing them for issues... like I said in my OP; I could have just went with an 80 dollar BioStar board and I bet you it would have given me less hassle...

flip your base on the side and try booting.
May be electrical problem
Sometimes happens.

as for BioStar/AsRock boards.. no.. just no..

The worst thing you could do is void the warranty before you RMA, best bet is just send that bad boy in and get a new one.

Isn't ASRock ASUS's budget division?
It was, but I believe Asus ended up spinning off ASRock into its own company.

I have the same board - same problem. I bought the board new, installed it and have gotten into the bios once. I have probably tried every known troubleshooting technique. I am currently awaiting my replacement board from Asus Advanced RMA. It should arrive this week.

After hours of resseting, clearing and searching I ran across this thread that I have decided is the reason my board does not post or enter the bios.

Rampage Extreme 3 Bios Stuck At Boot Device Led

Possibly a bad onboard audio chip? I recall you saying you where having problems with your audio?

Go ahead and do the advanced rma from them. But i think this will be the last one i have also. Just got this one back and the max bclk {not asus's problem, just my bad luck] walls at like 215 bclk. The one that went out i sent in walled at about 225+ bclk before slow mode was used. New bios seems to be causing some issues also. Might be the new bios has stopped the higher bclks. And it also played some effect on my 2,000mhz ram.

I think i am going to roll back the bios and test it out and see what i get on mine. Good luck on your rma and hopefully you get a good one. What rev was your board 1.xx or a 2.xx?
