P6T + 6x2GB DDR3 = can't boot into windows?

So I recently upgraded to two sets of G.Skill 3x2GB DDR3-1600. I've tested both 6GB kits in the orange slots of my motherboard and both are working fine. The second I put in all 12GB however, it ends up hanging at the windows screen (no BSODs or anything - it just hangs indefinitely)

I've set everything to default in the BIOS and the entirety of the installed 12GB is recognized there. I've also tried (with everything else at default) upping the PLL to 1.88, QPI to 1.35, and DRAM to 1.64 as well as manually setting the RAM to 1066 and 9-9-9-24. It still hangs...

Not too sure what else to try or what might be causing the issue. Anyone have any ideas?

When messing with memory overclocks & I see my rig hanging at the windows screen usually means I'm not feeding it enough qpi/vtt voltage, bumping it up a bit more usually gets me into windows again. It might just want more vtt than what you've tried.

I believe the QPI/DRAM or what-have-you in the equivalent to VTT on my board and 1.35v already seems like quite a bit for default settings and the memory running at 1066. Any other suggestions?

I will have to try putting in 12Gb of memory & see how it affects the qpi/vtt voltage, when I get through POST & the windows 7 'flower' comes up & then hangs there the vtt has always been the culprit for me.
I'll try 12 Gb in the next couple hours, see if & how much extra vtt I need & get back to the thread.

Yeah - that's exactly what it's doing and it seems a reasonable assumption that the qpi/vtt is what's causing it, but it still does it even with 1.35v which seems like it should be enough...

I've tried fiddling around with a number of settings, but I still can't seem to get it to stop hanging. Maybe I'll look to see if there's a more recent BIOS that I can try out...

I put another 6Gb into the sig rig & with 6 x 2Gb sticks it booted right into windows with all the same settings I was using, just had to add .02V vtt for stability.
Your uncore is double the memory speed at the auto setting?
Also is it the latest mobo bios?

In the BIOS or in windows? Hey wait - this is my thread!

fixed it had to wiggle the ram a bit.
here is what i have set in the bios:
BCLK 206
VTT +225mV, 1.45V with DMM
cpu frequncy is set to 1066 or 2:8
7-7-7-20-88-1T 1.66V

Well I updated to 1408 from 13xx and that seemed to do the trick! Booted right into windows which is saying 10GB of ram is installed. CPU-Z is reading all 12GB though... Fairly sure I read somewhere that this is caused by hardware allocation or something.
