E6750 @ 3.6GHz vs Athlon 7850 @ 3.3GHz

Out of those two processors, what would be better for gaming? The Athlon mentioned is a Phenom X2 essentially. And the Intel is a Conroe chip.

I don`t know about AMD CPU but I had E6750 @ 3.9GHz 24/7 and it was great performer..

Also 2MB of L2 cache per core (4mb total) really does great job..

E6750 @ 3.6GHz would be better than A II 7850 @ 3.3GHz..

When I moved from my E6750 @ 3.9GHz to Q9550 @ 3.9GHz I didn`t really noticed any difference as games were still Dual core optimised..

CHEERS..

EDIT: Woops, I accidently thought that I saw the black bars were the Athlon. Sorry about that. The E6750 is the better choice, for performance, and clock for clock.

At stock speeds, the Athlon x2 takes the cake for better performance, as well as being better, clock for clock.
I don't know what you're looking at, but the E6750 @ 2.66GHz is kicking the Athlon 7850 @ 2.8GHz down the street on every benchmark but two. The higher OC on the E6750 just makes matters worse for the Athlon.

It's not an Athlon II. It's an old Phenom I dual core. The First generation Phenoms were pretty poor performers in multi threaded apps. The Athlon II CPUs of today are better to be honest.

I can't really spend any money to upgrade and I'm gonna stick with the E6750. Seeing that graph really helped me out. Now all I need is a bit of overclocking help. What's really good ram that overclocks really well and can ensure me hitting 3.6GHz on this CPU. I plan to hold onto this one. It's also in an MSI P6N Diamond mobo if that helps. Never overclocked an Intel CPU.

The G.Skills should work fine for your situation.
