Is my motherboard fried?

eI have an older ECS A740GM0-M motherboard paired up with Athlon 2 X2 255 with some generic ddr2 667 2x1gb ram with a HP branded 300 watt psu the problem is I was using the internet on it and it worked fine, but then I turned it off and the monitor said no video signal when I turned it on 10 minutes later, and yes I tried a couple of monitors and dvi/vga cables. When I click the power button the CPU fan and case fans spin and everything seems to be find except I get no video signal on the monitor. Unfortunately this mobo does not have a place for a case speaker o I can't hear the beep when it posts but everything seems to work ok, the cd drive can open and close and the CPU fan spins but there is not video signal.

So I put my MSI GTX 465 into the system to see if that would work and still no video signal on the monitor. I know you are supposed to switch from the integrated graphics to the gpu in the bios but most newer boards seem to do it automatically, what I'm wondering is maybe this older board can't switch it on its own so it stays on using the integrated graphics which I'm guessing has died. Oh and the gpu boots up just fine on the older system, and the card works fine as well but still no video signal. Right now I have tried booting with 1 stick of ram, with unplugging the hdd and cd drive and still nothing. I'm thinking I might need a new board, what do you guys think?

I'm assuming you switched out the PSU when you put the GTX465 in?

Yes I did.

I checked the caps and they appear to be fine. Any other ideas?

I would still suspect the motherboard died. Just because there isn't any noticeable physical damage doesn't mean it couldn't have broken.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

From my experience, it has to do with the RAM seating. Try reseating your RAM if you haven't already replaced your motherboard. Try all kinds of variations with the RAM.
