Quiet my X4 955!

Thread Starter
Hey, I basically have the same question as this guy did, only I need more up-to-date info and recommendations. My PC is just to loud with the standard fan and I'd love to quiet it down. Ideal price range would be under $50, but I'm willing to go higher if you can make a compelling case for a particular model. Thanks!

Not really, no. Maybe some day, but I've never overclocked before and am happy with my performance now so I'll likely leave well enough alone.

I had the same problem as you, the stock Phenom cooler is a real shocker in terms of noise. Got the Coolermaster Hyper 212+ for $33 like thrasherht suggested. Almost silent and a lot cooler. Have to take M/B out and remove stock cooler mount but worth it.
Most CPU coolers are designed to fit in a standard ATX case.
