And we see yet another step in total control over what the user gets to see/watch/enjoy over the internet... Heck why not, we've given up every other liberty without so much as a flinch.

This is quite a good deal to strike for Intel. They know customers won't care because they'll still either buy a legitimate movie or download a cracked version that bypasses any DRM and Intel themselves get revenue from film companies for implementing it
post #194 of 377
The Inquirer, invoking sensationalism since 2001.

DRM at the CPU level is enabled only for DRM content that you purchase/rent. If you think the ripped movie you downloaded illegally will magically be locked out, you're wrong.

TL;DR: don't buy DRM media--and it sounds like most of you wouldn't dream of it anyway.

Just another reason to go with bulldozer, I don't need DRM of any sort in my hardware.

I don't give a damn what the license says, if I pay the purchase price for a piece of software, its mine and I'll do what I want with it.

That's where companies don't agree with you. It's THEIR software, YOU just use it. That's it. I'm sure if you were some big corporation too, you'd want this too. But you're not. You're the lower end of the food chain, so you see things different.

Highly doubt that's on air. OC3d's review stated at 5.0Ghz @ 1.56 the temps were ~60C. Either he's not on air, or his ambient is super low.
