More cores is GREAT. I would love to convert a video with an 8 core/16 threads CPU.
I think what he means is if the programs aren't there to take advantage of it theres really no point.
Some encoding programs sandy bridge beats out 980x, because they are just not threaded enough to fully utilize the 980x. Notice i say some obviously the 980x is faster but if something can't use the cores it's worthless. There is also a good majority of gamers on this site.
He's also saying if there are quads on ivy, they will probably be like the 930 and 870.
I really just wanna get back to the main article however which is about sandy bridge and motherboards not ivy bridge and performance but that's just me.
I really like the maximus color scheme but between it being $360 and getting a terrible review over at oc3d which i trust over techreaction. UD7 just seems like a boss.
