Very likely at this point. No way I am upgrading to an Intel chip that has a killswitch and doesn't work with linux.

Anyone seen a comparison between a 950@~4.0Ghz compared to an 2500/2600k @~4.5-4.9Ghz for gaming? Im just curious if there is a big differance between them.

Pretty sure all the reviews show a destruction in favourof the SB chips.
anyone else think these chips are boring?

I mean, yes I know that they perform really really well, but intel made OCing just boring by limiting it to only multiplier tweaking. Also if the chips really don't need more than the stock cooler for 4.5ghz as the anadtech review states, then whats the point of getting WC or something even more beefy to play with.

Also the integrated gfx chip is lame.

E: and I've heard stuff about -5C cold bugs, and the max multi is 57x (?) so these are really lame for benching as well.

First of all people are idiots if they believe all of this 5GHz 24/7 nonsense...

Secondly, I'm not that impressed either.

Point in the right direction, especially with that GPU. :O at its compiling speeds of videos faster than a 6870 and GTX 570. Still seems that a Q9550 is still fast on the gaming scene.

*yawn*

Intel's Quick Sync beat Nvidia's CUDA at transcoding quality.

Comparing the shots above the only real outlier is NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 460. The CUDA path clearly errs on the side of performance vs. quality and produces a far noisier image. The ATI Stream codepath produces an image that’s very close to the standard x86 and Quick Sync output. In fact, everything but the GTX 460 does well here.
So CUDA is just a quick and dirty, low quality solution. *sigh* ATI solution's seems to be the most consistent when it comes to IQ.
