From what you've explained I'd recommend a 2500K, ASUS P867 EVO, and 8GB of 1.5V 1600+ RAM at whatever CL you are budgeted for. IMO the Sabertooth is a gimmick at best.. I'm not considering it as I plan to WC this cycle.

Thank you sooo much Balla.

So SB 1155 is 11.3% faster overall per clock than a Lynnfield 1156.

A nice little performance bump for sure.

And runs on less power, has more overclocking headroom, SB is a winner!

Hey guys, my last post was Unreadable and too long, Here is my final decision with a bit of room to change if required.(This is where you come in)

Here is my Purchase:

ASUS P8P67 PRO Motherboard
+
Inte Core i5/i7- 2010rig said I wont see a benefit from 2600k and I should go for 2500k,what about if I plan to do emulation?

Mainly PS2(and dabble in Wii Emulation),It would be perfect finally able to play PS2 games as my PS3 is Slim and making them look better at the same time

Graphic Card Options:
1:6950 Unlock to 6970>>> $339AUD
2: Keep my GTX 470(The Zalman cooler with twin fans is $78)
3:Gtx 570 Evga/Gigabyte >>> $430AUD
4.I would like to avoid this option but: GTX 580>> $599/620 AUD

And I'm done, Thank you guys.

Hey man,

That's looking like a good build.

Because of the price of the 580, avoid that option, in fact, your best bet is still the 470 with the cooler, and overclock that to 800-1600-1800 and that will give 570 stock performance.

There's no game you can't max out 60 FPS on high settings with that card.

If you need more power, adding a 2nd 470 overclocked is the equivalence of 570's SLI, check out this review:
http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/8955...omparison.html

Plus, I know a member of this forum who has an unlocked 470 from this club.
http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/7899...-new-post.html

You can probably figure out who after reading a couple posts from there, and like I said it'll be like $220ish.

I can guarantee you that for $300 for the Zalman cooler and another 470, that this turns out to be the best option vs buying a 6950, 570, 580. I know this, because this upgrade path I'm taking.

I just want to see you get a great build for the best buck, as I will be recommending this build to others too, in your case, this makes the most sense.

2500K - $250 give or take
P8P67 Mobo - $250?
2nd 470 + Zalman cooler. $300

$800, and wasn't your budget $825?

HT doesn't appear to benefit PCSX2. Indeed, if one of your PCSX2 threads got assigned to a virtual core, you can expect to see worse performance. A Core i5-2500K should be good for PCSX2.

Thanks man I extended my budget to $1000-1200 however saving money is always great.

Btw The cheapest Gtx 470 I can get here in Aus land is $289, do I need two zalman coolers one for each card or does it cool both cards?

And just to be 100% sure before I click buy, I wont benefit from 2600k in Emulation, correct?

The Asus Pro board is actually $230 which is the reason I didn't want to pay $40 extra for extra lan on the EVO board.

If I wont benefit from a 2600k in emulation then the i5 2500k is actually $280

@rui-no-onna

Thanks for that, looks like I'll be going i5 2500k then, same thing applies for wii emulation as well correct?

Looks like I have my system

Yep, that's your best bet! You should wait until the weekend to order, and see what other info comes out on mobos, and bioses and stuff. I'm sure they will all receive proper support, I've been very happy with my Asus P6X58D-E.

btw - my buddy is still selling his 470 for about $225.

You can check it out, it's one of the cards from this club, and it already has a unique cooler in place.

This is the card:
