Is that going to be posted in its own SB benchmark thread? Can't find it if it is.

Is the consensus that tomorrow procs and mobos will be on sale? I am thinking of staying up til midnight to order. Problem is I am east coast and a lot of sites (newegg) run on west coast time. I just hope they are on amazon cause I could have all the parts here on Tuesday with prime. Already have a noctua d14 ordered for tuesday.

Which motherboard do you guys think would be better, the EVGA P67 or the ASUS P8P67 Pro? Those are the 2 I have narrowed it down to.

Just need to get my ram situated now.....Any recommendations? Keep in mind I am going to have the Noctua D14 cooler so I cannot get crazy with the fin size.

Looking at 2x2gb gskill ripjaws for $50:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231277

The CAS latency is what to look for right? The ones I linked have a CAS latency of 9 but for $15 they have some with 7.Thanks.

The Procs and Mobos have gone on sale here in Japan since it is the 9th already.

I wasn't sure or not if they would so I woke up late. Strolled into the local shop at 1pm but they had already sold out of 2500K's. They had two 2600k's left in stock though so I picked one up. Also grabbed an ASRock P67 Extreme4 board which was the last one they had in stock.

I was hoping to get an Asus P8P67 Pro but they only had the vanilla P8P67 board and the Deluxe P8P67 which was too much for my blood at ¥27000.

Got a ¥2000 discount by buying the board and chip together. 2600K was ¥28970 and the board was ¥17980. Not bad prices figuring thats tax included.

The ram they had in stock was crap though (nothing faster than 1333!) and I still need a new cooler so I won't get to play with the parts for another week or so.

I like how the Features of the 2500K include "Fully Unlocked Flexibility and Freedom" and yet we can't have base overclocks as the norm (only Turbo) or have control of the bus speed thanks to the unifying clock design.

Sorry I'm a little lost, have not been keeping up much, I keep hearing i5 2500k is better for gaming due to me saving $100.

But what do you mean we can only do Turbo as far as base overclocks are concerned?

I thought i5 2500k was fully unlocked, does the above apply to the i7 2600k as well?

I'm clueless when it comes to overclocking, have not overclocked in years and back then I sucked too boot

If you could explain what you meant in detail, I would appreciate it.

BTW 2010rig I went through PriceUSA to order from newegg and they ship the items to Australia.

Here is what I got from NewEgg:

1x Intel core i5 2500k $224.99
1x ASUS P8P67 Deluxe $239.99
Total: $464.98 = $466AUD+ PriceUSA service charge comes to $519.

If I bought it in Australia: $650

I still have not ordered yet though, I could change to PRO and save maybe $60AUD.

Yep, the 2500k has a fully unlocked multiplier. Check the OP, the 3rd video, it talks about how to overclock it.

btw - I'm finding links to those parts you asked for now, I'll post them here shortly.
