Hyperthreading, will it be beneficial for emulation like MAME, PCSX2 & Dolphin?

I'm thinking of getting the i5 2500K because I will mostly game but I will also be using the rig for emulation of arcade games via MAME and also PCSX2 for PS2 and Dolphin for Wii since these emulators are very cpu intensive.

What RAM speed should I get?
If you only need 4GB RAM, this will suffice @ 1600 MHZ for $50:

I really like it's Prime and Vantage scores at 5Ghz.

Yeah man, that's what's most impressive about SB, is that low power consumption, and the matching performing to the current enthusiast processors.

Ty for link. Thought I would stay up and see if Newegg would list the procs and mobos at midnight but forgot they are pacific and I am eastern.

Does amazon usually get new hardware like this right away? I have prime so I could have it by this weekend if they do....assuming they retail release today/tomorrow/sometime this week.

If anything comes up, I'm sure it'll be posted in the OP tomorrow.

NewEgg is usually among the first.

Do you know which Mobo you are going with?

I am not sure. I just did a search for p67 and Amazon has some boards up for sale already.

I am thinking a gigabyte p67 ud3p

The only real difference I can tell in the p67 mobos in whether they have x16 x4 lanes or x8 x8 pci express lanes with SLI/Crossfire support. I dont need either of those so the UD3P board looks solid.

I can't believe how cheap this RAM has gotten, also, you can set the timings to 7-7-7-24 as well!
