If you want to use AutoCAD extensively, I would get a high-end Xeon processor. But thats my opinion. It will cost you a lot more money...

If 4% matters to you...but I don't think 2 GTX275s will be suffering a 4% deficit, probably less.

I believe that the 2600k can reach 5Ghz on air. Just IMAGINE what you can do with when you watercool it.
it can go even higher than 5Ghz on air. people got it to 5.4Ghz on air stable.

but the voltage is so stupidly high it will only keep that overclock for no very long before degrading

Yup. Seems 1.45v is the minimum to even get to 5. I'll personally try to find a sweet spot around 4.7-4.8 with decent voltage. Seems 4.7 is just fine with 1.325v.

If you are really concerned about the PCI bandwidth you can get a board (like EVGA classified or UD7) with a n200 bridge, the latter will do x16/x16/x8

With only 4% loss i dont think it will matter at all.
As long as i can use my gtx275's for another year until the 600 series comes out. Will dx12 come next year?

Bet they will be almost similar.
That isn't really a fair comparison... seeing that the 760 is a i5 with no HT, and the 2600 is a i7 with HT.

Now the 2500k vs the 760 is what I really want to see.
