There's many options for proc/mobo combos... I'd wait and grab myself a new Sandy Bridge setup when they come out in a couple of days.

For cases, I can recommend the Cooler Master CM690 II Advanced - probably the best case under 100$ in terms of air flow, cable management, space and looks

500 milliwatts isn't going to power much. 500 megawatts will power a small city

I'd pick up an Athlon x3 or x4 for around $80-100. You should find them around 3.0-3.2 GHz. Should leave a lot left for the mobo and case.

I have been running my Athlon x4 630 for about 2 weeks now and love it. Boosted BC2 fps quite a bit from the Athlon 64 X2 6000+.

Go with this combo:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.572742

And these for the rest:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811147023
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835103065
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820211409

Comes out under 400, and you won't need 8gb of ram for gaming. You can use the remaining on a fancier case if you choose. I like that one for the plain look solid black theme.
