will my spec have a bottleneck for GTX460

Thread Starter
i have q8300 running at 2.5ghz my motherboard is nvidia MCP73PVT-PM with PCIE 1.1 also 4GB DDR2 800, i have gtx460 1GB installed, but when i run starcraft 2 in ultra setting its about 30fps, when large battle come, its around 10 or below that (no AA),(does RAM affect GPU speed because my RAM is DDR2 single channel, will it be better performance if i upgrade to DDR3 with dual or triple channel)
so does my spec have a bottleneck for my GTx460 everyone pls help

30fps does not sound right. I have a the 460SE and when I had my dual core I got better fps then that. Try turning some of the settings you do not really need down a bit. Did you have a video card before the 460? Did you wipe the old drivers? What driver are you using for the card? Disregard me. did not see pci e 1.1 either

I'm running a GTX480 and GTX280 (physX) on PciE 1.1 with no prooblem. If I were you I'd try to OC that CPU to at least 3.0ghz. I know that Q8300 is not a good OCer....

I may be wrong but it shouldn't effect performance.

I'm pretty sure any PCIE interface is still fast as hell. 1.1 or 2.0/.1 obviously 2.0 is twice the speeds but you should be fine.

You may want to consider a motherboard upgrade though.
