Just How Fast Is 1055T? - Page 2

In most tasks the 1055T does not fall short. Maybe in SuperPI, lol. Enjoy the 1055T. If you can overclock to 4GHz you won't be able to tell the difference.

Yea, the standard benches don't really impress me much anyways... Last time I checked, SuperPi and 3DMarks doesn't do much for entertainment... As much as I LOVE to see bunch of numbers, I would much rather be gaming or doing something useful...

I think I will try this build and get some perspective on the AMD... Surely, there would SOME benefit I guess over my existing setup, which is just running i3 @ 4.4Ghz with 2x 5770s... We will see...

Wow, now I'm definitely glad I went for for the 1055. So easy I'll have to overclock a bit!

I'll be as careful as I can; I usually am when I overclock. I probably won't take the CPU to 4GHz right off the bat... step it up little by little and see what I actually need.

Side question: If I take it up to ~3.5, should I increase voltage at all? Or should I test it first?

well i love mine, the perfect upgrade from my c2d laptop i use for editing, i can do so much more now, i paired mine with a nice motherboard and some OK 1600mhz ddr3 ram, i didn't realise my ram was at 1066 until yesterday, i've made it go at 1600mhz and its flys just a little faster even more so! itunes is so quick to load even on start-up for the price, i just can't see anything much better or worthwhile, but if you have an i7 already, not much point aha

1055T Is a beast! I'm at 4.0GHz @ 1.42V great temps with my CoolIT Vantage A.L.C water heatsink and does the job pretty well.... Whos care's about benchmarking scores..... you have 6 Core's at the ready OC at 4.0GHz and it will do what you need, Great for games also
