If you turn your head, you're doing it wrong

The side monitors are supposed to be your PERIHPERAL VISION

OTOH, having HUD elements off to the sides and a center panel completely uncluttered is great for the games....although this usually takes modding, for example on Fallout3/NV.

love my 30, and I couldn't give it up.

so I tried 3x20's it was great and I thought about selling the 20's and going w/ 3x24's, but in portrait, I wouldn't gain all that much and the "width" would not be any different (ie. my 20's are 1200x1600 each in portrait)

so I'm sold my 3x20's and going w/ 3x30's

if you have a local frys, they used to have either a gateway or apple 30" lcd running COD...it's hard to give up 2560x1600 for the nice immersion effect w/ out the bezels.

don't get me wrong 3x24's in portrait are great and it's an awesome setup, but using a 30 for many years and as immersed I am in my eyefinity setup, the bezels do become an eye sore @ times.

either way you choose, you will definitely enjoy it!

Thanks for all the replies.

After looking around on ebay, I can grab 3 new 24's (A03) for $495 each, totaling 1485, whereas the dell U3011 is $1400 by itself. That's a lot more resolution and workspace for almost the same price. The u2311h's however straight from Dell would come to $825. The price difference is astounding.
