GTS 450 or GTX 460? - Page 3

you can keep your PSU, it'll easily handle a gtx 460.

Though my advice is to wait for the gtx 560 if you can, coming out on Jan. 16-20. is the successor to the gtx 460

The 460 1gb is best for resolutions over 1080, under that a 768 mb card will do.
The 450 is a really good budget card. I had wanted a 460, but my 450 does everything I need. Sure I might get a fps with the 460, but I got my 450 for $90 less than a 460.
In your case, your having to buy a new PSU (not absolutly necessary IMO, the Basiq is a OK PSU and could power the 460) so it all comes down to budget.

The reviews I have read have the 460 768 7% slower than the 1GB. With the big diff in price the 460 768 is the best bang for the buck.

Thread Starter
Thanks for the replies

Have bought the 460 1gb, massive increase in gaming performance (obviously) i was running GTA IV at 1024x768 with settings on medium, but now have 1920x1080 with settings on high or very high.

With these settings i'm using about ~850mb of ~950mb graphics memory, so i'm glad i got the 1gb version.

Well worth the money. I stayed with my current 450 watt PSU and it runs fine.
