500gb WD 360 hard drive?

Hey gang.

Sorry this has probably been asked a million times before, but the search function isn't working for me here at school.. Anyways, I know you can use certain WD Scorpio hard drives that will work on the 360, but are you limited to ONLY the sizes the 360 will recognize?(20gb/60gb/120gb/250gb) I was looking around on the egg and noticed that the 500gb drives are only about $10 more than the 250gb. I found this WD Scorpio drive and was wondering if it would work. It's a BEVT model, so theoretically it SHOULD work. Just wondering if anyone has put a drive in that is over 250gb. I've heard that it will work fine, it will just "recognize" 250gb, but will use all 500. (ie. the dashboard will always show 250gb free UNTIL you have less than that.) Anyone wana shed some light on this?

Hope this made sense haha

Yes it will work but the extra space would be inaccessible. You have to flash a different firmware to the drive. After the 250gb limit has been reached it usually starts corrupting data.
