Want a Loop for my Bday, what do you think?

My birthday is on Wednesday and I want to buy myself a loop. Something to play around with. I've got about 300USD to spend. I don't know much about WC as of right now so PLEASE feel free to critique and tell me what I'm doing wrong. Also, if I'm missing anything please let me know!

Here's my basic list that I've thrown together,

RAD: Swiftech MCR320-QP-K
Pump: Swiftech MCP655
CPU block: Swiftech Apogee XT
GPU block: XSPC Razor 5870
Res: Swiftech MCRES-Micro Rev 2

total: $278.75

As far as the fittings and such, that is where I get lost. I also realize I need tubing and liquid. Can anyone offer me some help in deciding on these things?

Will that Rad be enough for my 5870 and Q9550?

Yeah, I like the look of swiftech products and from what I've read, that RAD/PUMP combo should be pretty quiet. Silence is my driving motivation for WC.

Thanks for your input everyone!

Also, will I need a new PSU? How much power does WCing use?

That radiator will be enough. However, why not save some money (and get a better radiator/CPU block!) by getting the XSPC RX360 kit for $190 + XSPC Razor GPU Block + 2x Bitspower 1/2" Fittings + Kill Coil.

Your above loop costs more and doesn't include tubing, barbs, hose clamps or a biocide.

That does look like an awesome deal, although I get a lot of pleasure out of picking out my own parts. Would that loop perform better than the one I had put together? Would it be as quiet? If so, I'd definitely take it into consideration.
It would perform better because it comes with a better CPU block and a better radiator.

How quiet it would be depends on the fans you get for the radiator - the default ones (that come with the kit) are 1700 RPM and a bit loud, however if you got some low speed yate loons your temperatures would slightly increase and it would be a lot quieter.

or grab some gentle typhoons

but fan controller + high/mid speed yates are nice for the budget.

Unless your getting the mcp655 vairo, the mcp655-b will be quite noisy.

And I would go with charlie's recommendation of the rx360. Unless your willing to go all out and spend $300-500 on your loop, you would probably just be better off getting the rx360 kit.

Mmmm, I'm quite interested in this kit now. Can I just buy this kit and the 5870 razor GPU cover and I'm good to go?
Get one of these http://ncix.com/products/index.php?s...h&promoid=1276

The mcr320 radiator is way better than rasa's slim rs series radiators, and performs very very closely to the rx360.

The pump inside (mcp35x) is supposedly the best ddc on the market, better than mcp355.

Apogee XT is on par with supreme HF and is actually better if you do the silicone mod to the top.

Pretty much everything is integrated into the rad except for the block, so you'll have a really nice neat loop.

To answer your question about liquid - get nothing more than Distilled Water. Get some PT -nuke or a silver kill coil and you should be good to go. But don't buy any dyed nonsense whatsoever
