Hello and Happy New Year to everyone!
So, a few days ago i purchased a gtx 580 and i decided to run a few benchmarks to check its performance at stock clocking.
Due to my C2Q Q8400 bottlenecking the GPU i decided to oveclock it to 3.2GHz. To my disappointment there was a significant performance drop
in all the benchmarks i used ( 3Dmark11, 3Dmark Vantage, Furmark, Unigine Heaven ) and from the 3dMark 11 and Vantage Results i noticed
that the Physics score had dropped after overclocking the CPU (afaik the Physics scores are the ones mostly affected by the CPU performance).

The paradox is that using Passmark Performance Test 64-bit there was an increase from 4140 pre-OC to 4900 post-OC which seems about right to me.
I also decided to give it a shot with Asus Turbo-key just to check if this would work and there was indeed a slight performance increase both in
all the benchmarks. So i supposed i must be doing something totally wrong.

Regarding the overclocking option i disabled SpeedStep, C1E support and CPU and PCIE Spread Spectrum, i increased FSB to 400MHz DRAM frequency to 800MHz (801 to be precise)
PCIE Frequecny to 100MHz and i decided to keep voltage values and ram timings to auto since i wasn't doing any extreme overclocking. I also ran Prime95 for 1 hour and my temps
were not above 50C (around 44-48) i think that's more quite stable. The CPU voltage seemed also OK, actually to the eyes of a novice in OClike me everything seemed fine except for
GPU benchmarks.

I also tried to tighten the RAM timings from 9-9-9-24 to 6-6-6-20 and that helped improved my Physics score but dropped the graphics score. Below are my
results in 3Dmark 11 (Performance Preset) dunno if they will be of any help:
2.66GHz
3.2GHz Ram Timings 9-9-9-24
3.2GHz Ram Timings 6-6-6-20

If anyone could enlighten me in what i'm doing wrong it would be great. Thanks in advance for your time. :-)
