How do I get my ISP to upgrade my ping? - Page 6

ping is highly dependent on the distance, and the hardware that is being used to route the data.
****ty hardware will have really high ping times, really good hardware will have really good ping times.

so if you are going through a bunch of servers that have ****ty hardware, you can guess the result.

while gaming its not always your ping that may cause bad gameplay with studdering and all.. if someone else is lagging bad enough your connection will suffer.. You gotta remember the game is always trying to keep everyone in sync. It will purposely slow your connection so the slowest player see's whats on your screen. Eventually when that one connection gets too slow he lags out and then game puts everyone in sync as best it can

So do all ISP's use interleaving? I just switched from Cox over to Eatel's fiber edge service and I am wondering if they use it. I wouldn't mind a little lower ping while I play some MMO's.

Still rapes all other ISPs on my exchange since they're the only one that offers ADSL2+

Though i am moving to O2 via LLU in about 3 weeks in my new place which has heaps of LLU ISPs.

That good with ATT? I've never had that good of an experience with them.

I know Sky will disable interleaving if you ask, I didn't see much of a difference though.
