Actually, most statistics are just based on a certain demographic or a smaller number.

It's why, as Penn and Teller say, Statistics are

On PC, you can go on hacked servers.
On Wii and Xbox, as far as I know you can just go on as long as your console is banned.

It's exactly the same as MW1 with a few features added, Activision can now do the exact same thing as EA Sports, hence, why CoD sucks, it's just a cash-cow now. (Not including the fact that MW1 was boring.)

Example (made up numbers)
Crysis downloads from TPB 56,412
Crysis downloads from Demon 9,789,543

Poll TPB only: looks like Crysis wasn't pirated much. Real results Crysis was pirated alot.
You're also discounting the fact that there may be deleted torrents (Eg. Crytek/EA could have started monitoring a huge one that had >10,000,000 DLs so it got deleted), people who use more than one source for the one torrent (To get higher speeds) and finally, people who start but don't finish it.

Your definition of great must be faulty, play some real FPS', you'll see that CoD has aimboxes the size of the stereotypical American and that its just a huge cashcow for Activision, for example, releasing a new game with new maps, then releasing the same maps as DLC? They've used the same engine since MW1, it wouldn't be THAT hard to port them over.

Because it's not true, a lot of people buy for SP.

The real way of saying it is: If a game either has horrible SP or horrible MP, it will probably be pirated.

I'm almost inclined to think that lists like these are some kind of clever marketing ploy...

"Our games are so good, people will break the law just to get their hands on it."

It's also interesting that out of that list, the only game I have played is Mafia II and given how little I got out of it, I wish I had pirated it instead. Was definitely not worth the $60.

This.

There's this branch of math called 'statistics'. You should look into it.
Piracy != Torrents.

Also, why would anyone download BO? AFAIK Multiplayer hasn't been cracked yet, so all you would be getting is the lackluster single player.

I was showing only one way to skew these results. There are alot of ways to show that their numbers are faulty.

It's my subjective opinion. I like the games for their campaigns, because they are fun, quick, and I like the styling. You can find something wrong with any game. Look at Crysis 2, it's not even out yet and people are calling it a bad console port! As an FPS, the COD games are fun for me.

What they won't tell us is how many of those downloads came from poor foreign countries. Odds are only 12% or so actually came from the US.

Are these just torrent downloads? What about private trackers, megaupload boards, and usenet?
