want to get to 4ghz HELP!

Thread Starter
Down below is a screenshot of cpuz and core temp for the settings i currently harbor.
Ive got my 965BE @ 3.8 stable (primed for 4 hours)
I did this with my old heat sink (some cheesy air cooler) and had an idle temp of about 33-35c.
I recently got the H70 and want to push it to 4ghz. Ive seen people do it with old air coolers so im certain it can be done with an H70 but still want to make 100% sure. Any ideas on how i can get more performance out of this overclock and/or my next?
Im very new to this, so go easy. Im just trying to hit that 4ghz sweet spot.

Dial back your HT link and give you vcore a bump. That chip can handle around 1.55V on WC. You can also try something like 228 core clock 17.5 multiplier or 18.0 multiplier. With your HT link down a bit, you have some more headroom to push your CPU. That chip can easily go over 4GHz. If you still have issues after trying these suggestions, PM me or post and I'll check back later.

Thanks for a quick response. Honestly i dont know how to adjust my HT link. All im entirely sure how to do is adjust my multiplier and core core clock. The voltage auto adjusts in Turbo Evo. BTW, im also looking for a better way to adjust these settings. Any ideas?
thanks in advance.

Use your BIOS for OC. Turbo EVO is good for small adjustments to your OC

What are you using to Overclock? dont use software via windows. Youll get a much better OC in windows. Im guessing your using AMD overdive due to the high FSB? you can go into bios and just up the multiplier to 20x200 up your NB freq to 2400-2600 and up your voltage to 1.5ish play around with this, id say 1.475-1.55 whatever is stable at lowest temps. Upping your DDR voltage to 1.55 will help a little and upping your NB vid to 1.3-1.4 will also help stablize things.. Do these things 1 at a time to eliminate the guesswork.. run prime 95 for 15 min and then keep pushing it. Keep note of your temperatures via coretemp or HWmonitor.

Check your memory sticker. After that I will give you some settings to try them. I can give it to you now, but I would like to run your memory @ full speed
