Black Ops: Zombie Mode

Thread Starter
After taking about a 2-3 year hiatus from FPS games, my friend made me sit down and play his Black Ops game and I am falling in love with the teamwork it takes to get through each round. We read some tips and use our pistols for more points in the early rounds, but we have never gotten past round 6, or the dog round for that matter.

We are super slow to opening up new parts of the level, Im wondering if this is key for spacing out the zombies from overrunning us, as we tend to do the first 4 rounds in the first room, if we survive that 4th round, we hold em off as long as possible for the 5th before opening up the next room and buying either the SMG off the wall or the random box.

If there is a dog round interspersed anywhere in our plan, we are as good as dead.

So Im wondering what are you guys doing to get so far in the zombie rounds? Trading in pistol for a secondary primary weapon is one guess that we are going to try next, or buying the shotgun off the wall if we get pitted against dogs. Just curious what you guys are doing?

Sounds pretty similar to the route I usually take; I make sure I have the stakeout before the dogs come though. I'm assuming you're playing Kino Der Toten, The best way (IMO) to advance into the later rounds is to buy every door until you get outside on the stairs. Don't open the last door and there are only two ways they can get to you, the spawn point at the bottom of the stairs and from the right.

Oddly enough, the more people you are playing with, the harder it gets. By myself I can usually get to at least round 20, with my personal record being 29. But playing with 3 other friends, the highest we could get was 16.

Have everyone get in the same corner...that way they all run in that direction and mow them down...Also always travel as a group when possible...that way you dont get singled out by a mob...and if you do die it is easier to get a Rez...

my personal experience on kino and just the zombie mod in general
-it's better to KNIFE on the early rounds.... and in fact it's quite easy. each round will determine how many knife hits it takes to kill ie round 1 1 hit round 2 2 hits
-Continue to use knives and pistols until round 4/5, there's really no reason to buy a secondary if you monitor the doors correctly. (frag grenades can be used in an emergency as they are worthless in later rounds)
-Always take the bottom door to the left and pass on the wimpy mp5, buy the door to the outdoors and purchase the aku. (sometimes it's better to split the purchases of the door between the team)
-the aku should hold you for quite a while. dogs are very easy if you group up in the corner and spray.
-you want to quickly get to the stage and from then on is where the real game begins...
-make sure to purchase the red soda crap; there's a machine on the back of the stage closest to where u spawned. (red soda is basically like the cod4 juggernaut perk)
-make sure to get a good weapon from the randomizer box (if you want to keep using the box to get a better gun its a good idea to leave ONE ZOMBIE alive)
-when you've amassed enough points, connect the teleporter and get your weapon pack-a-punched. (makes it stronger!!!1111)
-the best strategy for surviving is KITING. just walk around in circles around the stage and when you have a good mass of zombies following you, turn around and unload.
-more likely than not, its best not to revive a fallen teammate, it will most like just get you swarmed.
good luck!!

also, what does everyone think of the game? personally i hate the mp, but i enjoy the zombies. if i want to play mp, ill go play cod4 promod.
