if you like crazy, help me with this hp oem bios

first going to start by saying don't laugh at me, this little "project is just for fun" and somewhat on principle, as well as what could potentially be a HUGE learning experience.

I have an HP TouchSmart 300-1025, not the biggest and baddest of machines by a long shot but pretty nifty all the same, I just built a new desktop that's MUCH faster but would still like to squeeze WHATEVER I can out of this thing. Problem is (as I am sure most of you know) HP's OEM Bios is quite "dumbed down" and TONS of settings are disabled. . . Makes overclocking almost impossible. . .

So what I'm asking is if anyone already has, or thinks it is possible (and has an Idea how) to REPLACE or MODIFY this bios to allow for overclocking, it has an AMD Athlon II x2 240e (which by todays standards isnt too great, but not a bad processor at all)

this is all the info I have on the board and bios so far:
everest says everything about the BIOS is unknown

AMD Overdrive gives me this:
Name:3CR0040BRT
Description:BIOS DATE 02/11/10 16:07:02 Ver: 5.10
Vendor: AMERICAN MEGATRENDS INC.
Version: 5.10
Date: 20100211

Most I know about the MoBo is:
Made by Pegatron Corp.
AMI Bios
model number: NY537AA-ABA 300-1025
bios size: 1048576
Chipset: AMD 9600 rev 0

found one REALLY SMALL image here

if you need more info I will do my best to find it.

you could overclock using software like setfsb or clockgen.. but oem companys like dell and hp, etc dont offer overclocking in bios

will try setfsb, clockgen wouldnt work on this pc, still would rather manage to mod this bios or replace it entirely. . .partially on principle, partially because I like to at least attempt the impossible

EDIT:
SetFSB does not work either, anytime I set the FSB above stock, it just reverts back. . .

Note to self: if overclocking software fails the first time don't "try and try again" kinda locks up your system pretty bad. . . this is getting fairly frustrating

Can't be done. The bios .bin file is wrapped in HP's own install program and can't be seperated out to mod. However, while I was looking the bios up I noticed there is a critical bios update for your unit. You might want to run this.

alright may sound slightly dumb, but if it's wrapped in something, why not just open it all and try to read through the extra BS to find the things we need? Hell I'm a Satellite Communications guy not a programmer. . . want me to build an antenna for your n router that will get you about 8 miles? sure! but programming I'm not too experienced at. . . just a thought though. . .

BTW if that's the latest update from HP, I already have it. . . didn't really change anything, never got that blue screen error anyway. . .

wondering if flashing with a normal AMI bios would work. . . doubt it considering pegatron is a devision of asus and it is not an actual AMI board. . . any thoughts?

maybe an asus bios?

maybe if I can somehow combine the two bios files so that it functions simillarly but with more options?

hmmmmm. . . will keep googling

Hahaha, if it were that easy I'd have done it already.

OK, just checking.

Don't do that. All bios' are not created equal. 99.9% of the time if you do something like this, you wind up with a bricked board.
