Issue with ANY linpack test.

Thread Starter
Hello o'clockers. It says I'm new here, but used to have an account, however, naturally forgot the login, so made a new one...

Anyway, I'm experiencing an issue running linpack tests, regardless of which program I use and which computer I run it on... I've google-searched to no end and wanted to see if it's just my bad luck or if anyone else has also experienced this.

On 2 different systems with Win7 x64, when I try to run a linpack (with over 4-5gb memory utilization), the linpack_xeon64.exe stopped responding dialog box comes up IMMEDIATELY after clicking start. It does not even get a chance to start putting stress on the CPU or RAM. If I set linpack to 50% memory utilization in OCCT, it will work... Also if I set less than about 4-5gb in Linx, it will work... However, trying to use more than that, results in 'stopped responding' dialog box. (IntelBurnTest exhibits the same behavior as OCCT linpack and Linx.)

One system has 12gb of ram the other has 8gb. The one I'm working on now (12gb) is stable in Prime/Occt/etc normal tests... just will not run linpack with over 4-5gb utilization as said before...

Anyone else experience this? Is this a bug within software or something else?

The 12gb system is an i7 930 running on a Giga-Byte X58A-UD3R.
The 8gb system is an C2Quad Q9450 running on a Giga-Byte X48T-DQ6.

Thanks for any input you may have!

EDIT: The 8gb system USED TO run 90% OCCT linpack without an issue, but now when I try it exhibits the same issue as the 12gb system... I don't quite understand it...

Hey I just wanted to chime in because i've got a 970 with 12 gigs of ram, just installed them today. I've also encountered these problems with linx.

EDIT: TRY THIS
