Just recently got back into wow and I installed it on my sig rig..everything on ultra and 4xAA, 1920x1080 resolution...and my gpu usage is 99 percent most of the time? Really? What gives lol

I have a gtx 570 for crissakes!

What resolution? Neither of my 285's reach 40%, they hover around 30-35% each and I run not only Ultra settings, but custom settings that allow for more ground clutter and increased rendering distance of objects in the world... Plus 8x AA. This is at 1920x1080 though. As you increase resolution, you increase the need for the GPU.

Mine does the same, it probably isnt gpu intensive at 1280x1024 on medium settings. Its not as easy a game to run maxed out as people say it is.

WoW still needs a pretty decent GPU. There are alot of Textures & lets say your in a 25 man & everyone is spell casting. It does take its toll on the GPU.

The one thing about WoW is the Shadows suck up FPS like crazy. WoW's shadows are implemented badly. So running Shadows on Low or Medium will improve FPS alot.

WoW is also poorly Coded so that speaks for itself

it is a poorly coded game. Poorly coded games cause unneeded stress on the gpu and cpu and waste memory space also.

Sorry forgot to add that its at 1920x1080 fullscreen mode...

I just read about the shadows killing fps and sucking up resources...

I just thought it was pretty funny..I created a new toon and was in the beginner areas and alt tabbed to windows and had afterburner running..I was like wth?

Yeah, the new update majorly upped the graphics requirements for maxed out settings.

I run Ultra w/ Windowed 1920x1080 - Shadows on "Fair", no VSync, 1x Multisampling..

Game looks pretty and runs smooth like this on a 460, in case anyone is interested in settings.
