1366 uses triple channel ram, so it's either Sandybridge 1155 or Lynnfield 1156 setups to choose from

Doesn't mean you have to run triple channel though does it?

So what is the point in having a 1366 mobo and not running triple channel ram?
I'm lost to the reasoning behind needing a 6/8 core cpu for most tasks in the first place.

Most things aren't even quad optimized yet, why would you tell anyone to wait another year before upgrading to something that is ahead of the software of it's age and will be outdated by the time the software catches up?

Re-read the original post. I edited it. I'm a bit worried about sandy bridge's DRM. Not sure on how it works exactly..

According to this, yes they OC higher but the 1366 i7's still out preform it.

I guess I had the wrong understanding of these chips, the CPU/GPU in one didn't make since to me in the first place.
I see it as a plus for laptops, but for desktops it just makes scene that one of these 1155 chips having both CPU & GPU would not out preform two separate dedicated processors.

Later on this year, they should be better then the 1366 when they release the x68's. These will not have the two in one mix, but still overclock just as good.

It is a non issue. It is only for their streaming service. If that prevents you from buying Sandy Bridge . . .
