even though recertified but it futures dual tuner, much better for the value

otherwise Yes, hvr-1250 is a good simple tuner

I have not had any issues with mine, seems to do everything I want it to; however, it is the only one I have ever had, so I can't compare it to anything.

If you do get it, just make sure you do not use the software that come with it. It is horrible.

thanks guys
wintv 7 is not good ? i was told its better then wmc?
I never used wintv 7, i've used wintv6, which was a disgrace to programmers around the world, absolute crap. Just give it a whirl, and see if you like

Windows 7 Media Center hands down the winner. It is the easiest to use and configure. Not the richest in features but it works!

Yea, it is a decent tuner for basic tv.
As for Wintv, I also tried V 6 and it was horrible (problems tuning the channels, especially the QAM). 7 may be better, but as said, I use WMC and have no issues with my 2250 (or 2 ATI cards either).

windows media center is leaps and bounds better than wintv. I have a 1250 in my gaming rig and like it, Alot better signal lock than my kworld usb tuners.

I have the HVR 1250, on my sig rig actually. Pretty handy, I can go half and half. Browser one half the screen: TV the other lol.

I have no problems with the Software or the card itself (running DirectTV through it)
